Activist-Teacher Arrested in Iranian Kurdistan

According to Kurdpa Press agancy, a Kurdish teacher was arrested on Saturday, November 24th, by Iranian agents. After Hamid Nirgize was arrested he was transported to a prison in Sanandaj.
Previously, a regional teachers strike took place due to lack of support by the government and inadequate wages and funding for schools across Iran. In similar news, Omeed Shahmahamedy, another Kurdish teacher, was also arrested and transported to prison by the Iranian government. The government has cracked down hard on any form protesting.
Hamid Nirgize was a teacher for more than 25 years and as of his arrest, loved ones have no information about his whereabouts or why he was arrested.
