A young girl sets herself ablaze in Sanandaj

Kurdpa: A 22-year old girl from the village of “Shian” in the suburb of Sanandaj city died after setting herself ablaze.
According to a news report from Kurdistan Human Rights Organization, a copy of which was sent to Kurdpa News Agency, Shanaz Rahmani, 22-year old, died from high degree burns in hospital after she had attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze a few days earlier.
The source has listed ‘family problem’ as the main motive behind this young Kurdish girl’s self-immolation.
According to a study by a Baneh women’s organization, Kurdish women’s self-immolation, is the most common method of suicide in the Kurdish provinces of Ilam, Kirmanshah and Kurdistan.
Data complied by Kurdpa shows since the beginning of the Iranian New Year, 11 Kurd residents have died committing suicide for various reasons.
