A Kurdish religious activist was charged with ‘propaganda against the system’

Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): A Kurdish religious activist was charged with ‘propaganda against the system and disturbing public opinion’ in the Prosecutor General\'s Office of the Clergy of Hamadan.

According to reports received by our agency, today, Tuesday, the 18th of September, Hashem Hoseinpanahi, a Kurdish national-religious activist and an official of the Kurdistan Maktan Quran Council was summoned by the Prosecutor General\'s Office of the Clergy of Hamadan and charged with ‘propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran and disturbing public opinion’.

The General office of Kurdistan’s Ettelaat (Intelligence Service) had lodged a complaint against Hashem Hoseinpanahi due to his participation in the funeral of Ramin Hoseinpanahi and delivering a speech there.

Putting three hundred millions rials, he is now out on bail until the day of his trial.

The Kurdistan Maktan Quran is a religious movement based on Kurdish-Sunni regions of Iran. The founder of the organization, Ahmad Moftizadeh was died after serving almost ten years in prison due to his beliefs and activities while his organization was working in favor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in early years of the Iranian revolution in 1979. The organization is active in social, cultural, and ever political and economic areas.
