Mahabad; Arbitrary Arrest of Kamal Piranpour and Transfer to an Undisclosed Location

July 8, 2026; Yesterday, a Kurdish citizen from Mahabad identified as “Kamal Piranpour” was arbitrarily arrested by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

An informed source confirmed the details to Kurdpa, stating: On the evening of Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Kamal Piranpour—son of Hassan, a 43-year-old Kurdish citizen from Mahabad—was arrested after security forces raided his home without presenting a judicial warrant. He was subsequently transferred to an unknown destination.

To date, no information has been made available regarding the reasons for his arrest, and security agencies have provided no official explanation concerning his case.
