Asmanabad/Ilam; 17 Days of Detention and Absolute Lack of Information Regarding the Fate of 3 Young Kurdish Men Alireza Ghasemnejad, Armin Asadian, Ahmadreza Kouhzadiani

June 6, 2026; Following 17 days since the arbitrary detention of three young Kurdish men from Asmanabad, a subordinate of Ilam, named “Alireza Ghasemnejad”, “Armin Asadian”, and “Ahmadreza Kouhzadiani”, there remains absolutely no information regarding their fate or place of detention. The continuation of this absolute lack of information, the deprivation of any contact or meetings with their families, and the lack of access to a lawyer have intensified their relatives' concerns regarding their lives and fates.

An informed source, while confirming this news, told Kurdpa: On Thursday, May 21, 2026, security forces raided the homes of these three young Kurdish men from Asmanabad and, without presenting a judicial warrant, arrested them in a violent manner and transferred them to an unknown location. According to this source, following 17 days from the time of their arrest, there is still no news concerning their situation, and they are deprived of the right to access a lawyer, meet, or contact their families.

Until the publication of this news, no information has been released regarding the reasons for the detention of these Kurdish citizens, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard.
