Piranshahr; 10 days of arbitrary detention and absolute lack of news regarding the fate of "Vahed Soltani"
May 17, 2026; following the passage of 10 days since the arbitrary detention of a young Kurdish man from Piranshahr named "Vahed Soltani," there is still no information available regarding his fate and place of maintenance, and he remains deprived of the right to access a lawyer, meetings, and contact with his family.
An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, said: "Vahed Soltani," son of Taher, 21 years old and from the village of "Kheranj" in the vicinity of Piranshahr in West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested on May 8, 2026, by a raid of security forces on his family home, without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and was transferred to an unknown location.
Until the publication of this news, there is no information available regarding the reasons for the detention of this Kurdish citizen, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard. Furthermore, despite the follow-ups by his family and relatives, no information regarding his status and fate has been given to them so far, and his family remains in a state of complete lack of news and severe anxiety regarding his situation.
