Mahabad; More than 20 days of arbitrary detention and absolute lack of news regarding the fate of Siavash Azizi Aghdam
May 13, 2026; following the passage of more than 20 days since the arbitrary detention of "Siavash Azizi Aghdam," a Kurdish citizen from the city of "Mahabad," there is still no information available regarding his fate or place of maintenance. During this period, this citizen has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, in-person meetings, and even telephone contact with his family.
An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, said; "Siavash Azizi Aghdam" was arrested in early May 2026 by security forces without the presentation of any judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location. Despite repeated and daily inquiries by his family from security and judicial institutions, relevant officials have so far provided no clear answer regarding their son's status and fate.
This informed source further added that the deprivation of basic rights and the absolute lack of news about this citizen's status has created a wave of serious concern and anxiety among his relatives regarding his physical health and life security.
Until the moment of preparation and publication of this report, there is no information regarding the reasons for the arrest or the charges brought against this Kurdish citizen, and security institutions have remained silent in this regard.
