Sanandaj: Three months of arbitrary detention and uncertainty for Hiwa Tataei

April 19, 2026; following three months since the arbitrary detention of Hiwa Tataei, a Kurdish citizen from Saqqez, he remains in a state of uncertainty in Sanandaj Prison.

According to an informed source speaking to Kurdpa, after the completion of interrogation phases in one of the security detention centers in Sanandaj, this Kurdish citizen was transferred to the central prison of this city and has been deprived of access to a lawyer and meetings with his family so far.

On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Mr. Tataei was arrested by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant.

To date, no precise information has been obtained regarding the reason for the arrest and the charges brought against this Kurdish citizen.
