Bukan; Temporary Release of Rahim Shilani and Azad Rasouli-Fard After 80 Days of Arbitrary Detention Upon Posting Three-Billion Bail

On April 21, 2026; during the past few days, "Rahim Shilani" and "Azad Rasouli-Fard," two Kurdish citizens from the city of Bukan, were temporarily released from the prison of this city after each posting a bail of three billion Tomans.

These two citizens had been transferred to Bukan Prison after enduring torture and interrogation in one of the security detention centers.

On Friday, January 30, 2026, "Azad Rasouli-Fard," son of Rahim, born in 1980, and "Rahim Shilani," son of Osman, born in 1975, both from the city of Bukan, were arrested by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and were transferred to an unknown location.

To date, no information is available regarding the reason for the arrest and the charges brought against these two Kurdish citizens; furthermore, these two citizens were deprived of the right to access a lawyer during their detention period.
