Bojnord; 28 days of detention and absolute lack of information regarding the fate of Amirmohammad Sarafraz, a Kurdish youth Severe concern for his life and fate
February 9, 2026; Following 28 days since the arbitrary detention of “Amirmohammad Sarafraz,” a Kurmanj Kurdish youth from “Bojnord,” there is no information regarding his fate or place of detention. the continuation of this absolute lack of information and arbitrary detention has led to severe concern for his family regarding his life and fate.
An informed source, while confirming this news to “Kurdpa,” stated; “Amirmohammad Sarafraz,” a Kurmanj Kurd from “Bojnord,” was arrested on January 13, 2026, by security forces during a raid on his home without the presentation of a judicial warrant. He was transferred to an unknown location, and since then, there has been no information regarding his fate.
During his period of arbitrary detention, this Kurdish citizen has been completely deprived of the right to access a lawyer, as well as contact and visitation with his family.
It should be noted that several of this Kurdish citizen's friends, identified as Mohammad Ali Pahlavan, Sajjad Baghcheghi (whose case was previously published by Kurdpa), Mohammad Nourani, Mohammad Karimi, and Javad Nourani—all of whom are Kurmanj Kurds from Bojnord—have also been targeted and arrested.
