Ilam; 30 days of arbitrary detention of Jafar Mahmoudi Serious danger to his life and fate after the broadcasting of forced confessions
February 8, 2026; Following 30 days since the arbitrary detention of “Jafar Mahmoudi,” a Kurdish youth from the city of “Chovar” in “Ilam” province, concerns regarding his life and fate have intensified following the broadcasting of forced confessions attributed to him, and the danger of heavy sentencing is very serious.
An informed source, while confirming this news to “Kurdpa,” stated; local sources have confirmed that the forced confessions of “Jafar Mahmoudi” were broadcast on the “Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting” (state TV). According to this source, he has been subjected to severe physical and psychological torture in security detention centers, which has seriously increased the likelihood of heavy sentences being issued against him.
“Jafar Mahmoudi” was arrested on January 10, 2026, with the use of violence by security forces and without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and was transferred to an unknown location. During his 30 days of arbitrary detention, this Kurdish citizen has been deprived of the right to any contact, visitation with his family, or access to a lawyer.
