Abdanan; 30 days of arbitrary detention and absolute lack of information regarding the fate of Sajjad Hekmat Serious concerns regarding his life and fate
February 8, 2026; Following 30 days since the arbitrary detention of “Sajjad Hekmat,” a Kurdish youth from “Abdanan” in “Ilam” province, there is still no information regarding his fate or place of detention, and his family is intensely worried about his life and status.
An informed source, while confirming this news to “Kurdpa,” stated; “Sajjad Hekmat” was arrested on January 10, 2026, by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location. Since the time of his arrest, no information has been available regarding his status or whereabouts.
During his 30 days of arbitrary detention, this Kurdish citizen has been deprived of the right to any contact, visitation with his family, or access to a lawyer. The continuation of this lack of information has significantly increased his relatives' concerns regarding his life and fate.
