Ilam; Arbitrary detention of 5 other citizens; Mohammad-Mahdi Pirdeh, Jaber Soltanian, Erfan Azizi, Sabah Karimi, Farshad Mahdavi

February 27, 2026; During the past days, five other citizens from the cities of “Ilam” Province named “Mohammad-Mahdi Pirdeh,” “Jaber Soltanian,” “Erfan Azizi,” “Sabah Karimi,” and “Farshad Mahdavi” were arbitrarily detained by security forces and transferred to an unknown location. After a period ranging from several days to more than a week since the time of detention of these individuals, there is still no information available regarding their fate or place of detention.

According to received reports; on February 20, 2026, “Mohammad-Mahdi Pirdeh,” an 18-year-old Kurdish youth from the city of “Darreh Shahr,” on February 21, 2026, “Jaber Soltanian,” a Kurdish citizen from the city of “Asmanabad,” on February 22, 2026, “Erfan Azizi,” a Kurdish youth from the city of “Holeylan,” on February 23, 2026, “Sabah Karimi,” a Kurdish youth from the city of “Malekshahi,” and on February 24, 2026, “Farshad Mahdavi,” a 25-year-old citizen from the city of “Malekshahi,” were detained following raids by security forces without judicial warrants and transferred to unknown locations.

Based on these reports, these Kurdish youths have been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, in-person meetings, and contact with their families during their period of arbitrary detention.
