Gorgan Prison; 27 Days of Arbitrary Detention and Uncertainty for Farshad Barati; He Has Been Transferred to Gorgan Prison Following the Completion of Interrogation

February 20, 2026; After 27 days since the arbitrary detention of “Farshad Barati,” a Kurdish youth from city of Dargaz in Khorasan Razavi Province and a resident of Gorgan, he is being held in a state of uncertainty in Gorgan Prison and is deprived of temporary release.

An informed source, while confirming this news, told Kurdpa: “Farshad Barati” was detained on January 25, 2026, without a judicial warrant and through a night raid on his home and transferred to an unknown location. Following the completion of the interrogation, he was transferred to the political prisoners' ward of Gorgan Prison and is being held in a state of uncertainty in this prison.

During the interrogation period in an unknown location and currently in Gorgan Prison, he has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer and meetings with relatives. Farshad Barati is originally from the Kurmanj Kurds of city of Dargaz in Khorasan Razavi Province and is a resident of Gorgan. He is married and the father of two children.
