Ilam; Continuation of arbitrary detentions of 8 Kurdish citizens Lack of information regarding their fate from several days up to 16 days after detention
February 13, 2026; From January 29 to February 11, 2026, at least 8 other Kurdish citizens from various cities in the province of “Ilam,” including “Younes Naseri, Yousef Azadkhani, Khalil Esmaeili, Ali Hatami, Hassan Mohammadi, Kian Gheysar-Beygi, Nabi Zamani, and Abdol-Saheb Jafarzadeh,” were arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic in a violent manner and without the presentation of a judicial warrant. These arrests have taken place as part of a wave of mass and arbitrary detentions in the province of “Ilam.”
According to received information, all these citizens were arrested without the presentation of a judicial warrant and transferred to unknown locations; after a period ranging from a few days to more than 16 days since the time of detention, no official information regarding their status, place of detention, or fate has been provided to their families.
The details of the detainees are as follows:
- Younes Naseri, from “Asmanabad,” Ilam, arrested: January 29, 2026, lack of information: 16 days
- Yousef Azadkhani, from “Asmanabad,” Ilam, arrested: February 2, 2026, lack of information: 12 days
- Khalil Esmaeili, from “Lumar” in the suburbs of “Sirvan,” arrested: February 3, 2026, lack of information: 11 days
- Ali Hatami, 34-year-old Kurdish youth from “Badreh,” Ilam, arrested: February 3, 2026, lack of information: 11 days
- Hassan Mohammadi, Kurdish youth from “Badreh,” arrested: February 8, 2026, lack of information: 6 days
- Kian Gheysar-Beygi, 19-year-old student from “Sarableh,” arrested: February 10, 2026, lack of information: 4 days
- Nabi Zamani, from “Asmanabad,” Ilam, arrested: February 10, 2026, lack of information: 4 days
- Abdol-Saheb Jafarzadeh, from “Badreh,” arrested: February 11, 2026, lack of information: 3 days
It should be noted that all these Kurdish citizens have been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, telephone contact, and visitation with their families since the time of their arrest.
