Ilam; Detention of 30 More Citizens in Ilam, Darreh Shahr, Badreh, Malekshahi, Sarableh, and Chardavol

January 5, 2026; In the continuation of the wave of arbitrary detentions of Kurdish citizens in Ilam province, aimed at establishing an atmosphere of repression and security over society following the popular protests of January 2026, at least 30 more Kurdish citizens were detained in the cities of Ilam, Darreh Shahr, Badreh, Malekshahi, Sarableh, and Chardavol in Ilam province.

According to reports received and confirmed by Kurdpa, between January 1 and January 4, 2026, at least 30 more Kurdish citizens were detained in Ilam province. Among those detained in Ilam are two teenagers under the age of 18, one woman, and an associate professor from Ilam University. Most of these individuals were detained violently during raids by security forces on their homes without the presentation of a judicial warrant. As of the publication of this report, there is no information regarding the status or whereabouts of many of them.

Ilam; 14 people

January 2, 2026: “Ali Sajadian” 19 years old, “Milad Karami” 23 years old.

January 3, 2026: “Meysam Nouri”, a 21-year-old youth who was injured and hospitalized at “Imam Khomeini” Hospital in Ilam. Despite having several broken teeth and fractures in both wrists, he was violently detained and transferred to an unknown location.

January 4, 2026: “Reza Chakav” 19 years old, “Milad Shapsandi” 21 years old, “Mehdi Fahimi” 21 years old, “Armin Karimi” 21 years old, “Mehdi Kohani” 17-year-old teenager, “Amir Mohammad Sohrabian”, “Mohaddeseh Razazzadeh” 19 years old, “Ali Sarayi” 19 years old, “Amir Yousefzadeh” 21 years old, and “Mohammad Mehdi Aidian”.

Also on January 4, 2026, “Nabi Omidi”, an associate professor of economics at Ilam University and a civil activist, was violently detained.

Darreh Shahr; 4 people

January 4, 2026: “Jafar Rahbari” 20 years old, “Nima Naseri” 20 years old, “Hassan Noordinvand” 37 years old, and “Mohammad Amin Bazgir”.

Badreh; 4 people

January 2, 2026: “Amir Morad Haseli” 22 years old.

January 3, 2026: “Moein Fazeli” 18 years old, “Reza Abdoshahi” 18 years old, and “Arya Karimi”.

Malekshahi; 2 people

January 3, 2026: “Mostafa Faraji”.

January 4, 2026: “Mehdi Gheysarbeigi” 37 years old.

Sarableh; 2 people

January 2, 2026: “Alireza Naghizadeh” 27 years old.

January 3, 2026: “Javad Malek” 25 years old.

Chardavol; 2 people

January 3, 2026: “Behzad Abbasi” 26 years old and “Hiwa Abbasi” from “Shabab” in Chardavol.
