Kermanshah; Detention of 9 More Citizens, Number of Detainees Reached 35
January 4, 2026; In the continuation of the wave of arbitrary detentions of Kurdish citizens in Kermanshah province, aimed at imposing an atmosphere of suppression and security over society following the popular protests of January 2026; at least 9 more Kurdish citizens were detained in the cities of Kermanshah, Harsin, Eslamabad-e Gharb, and Gilan-e Gharb (suburbs of Kermanshah). Previously, Kurdpa had reported the detention of 26 other Kurdish citizens in the cities of Kermanshah, Harsin, and Sarpol-e Zahab. Thus, over four days (January 1 to 4, 2026), more than 35 Kurdish citizens have been detained in Kermanshah.
According to news received and verified by Kurdpa, during the days of January 1 to 4, 2026, at least 9 more Kurdish citizens were detained in Kermanshah province. These detentions include Kermanshah (3 people), Harsin (3 people), Eslamabad-e Gharb (1 person), and Gilan-e Gharb (2 people). Most of these individuals were violently detained during raids on their homes by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and until the time of publication of this report, there is no information available regarding the status or place of detention for many of them.

Kermanshah (3 individuals):
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, "Ehsan Hayati" was detained by security forces in the "Vakil Agha" neighborhood of Kermanshah and transferred to an unknown location. On Saturday, January 3, 2026, "Meysam Behzadi", from the village of "Chaharzabar" (a suburb of the Mahidasht district), was detained by security forces and transferred to an unknown location. On Saturday, January 3, 2026, "Mohammad Ziadi", from Kermanshah, was detained by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
Harsin (3 individuals):
On Friday, January 2, 2026, "Rahim Mohammad-Vali", "Ali Cheraghi", and "Milad Ali-Beigi" were detained by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
Eslamabad-e Gharb (1 individual):
On Saturday, January 3, 2026, "Saeed Darvishi" was detained by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
Gilan-e Gharb (2 individuals):
On Saturday, January 3, 2026, "Yousef Salkhordeh", a tattoo artist from Gilan-e Gharb, was detained following a raid by dozens of security forces on his home and transferred to an unknown location. On January 4, 2026, a Kurdish citizen from Gilan-e Gharb named "Delaram Kazemi", who had been detained by security forces on January 2, 2026, was temporarily released.
