Ilam; Continuation of indiscriminate and violent arrests of Kurdish citizens; 9 more individuals detained

January 29, 2026; From January 8 to January 28, 2026, at least 9 Kurdish citizens from various cities and villages in Ilam province, named “Farhad Shafiei, Pouya Norouzi, Saeed Ghobadian, Omid Fazeli, Mostafa Mohammadi, Mehrdad Fili, Omid Ghobadian, Reza Tij, and Mostafa Kamarkhani,” have been arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic in a violent manner and without the presentation of a judicial warrant. These citizens are being held in undisclosed locations, and after a period ranging from a few days to more than 21 days, there is no official information regarding their status, place of detention, or possible charges.

According to received information, the arrests were often accompanied by raids on homes, the use of violence, and beatings; in some cases, the detainees' homes were completely destroyed.

The details of the detainees are as follows:

Farhad Shafiei, 37 years old, from “Darreh Shahr,” was arrested on January 21, 2026; 8 days of silence have passed since his detention.

Pouya Norouzi, 35 years old, from “Ilam,” was arrested on January 9, 2026; 20 days of silence have passed since his detention.

Saeed Ghobadian, from “Ilam,” was arrested on January 8, 2026; 21 days of silence have passed since his detention.

Omid Fazeli, from “Badreh,” was arrested on January 28, 2026, in a violent manner during a raid on his shop.

Mostafa Mohammadi, from “Ilam,” was arrested on January 24, 2026; 5 days of silence have passed since his detention. He had previously suffered an eye injury caused by repressive forces.

Mehrdad Fili, from “Zarneh” in Ilam, was arrested on January 24, 2026, in “Bandar Abbas” while heading to work; 5 days of silence have passed since his detention.

Amin Ghobadian, from “Sefidkhani” in Ilam, was arrested in late January 2026, and there has been no information regarding his fate for more than two weeks. He was previously arrested in November/December 2022 during the “Zhen, Zhian, Azadi” revolutionary uprising and was subjected to torture and forced confessions.

Reza Tij, a 22-year-old youth from the village of “Pakal” in “Badreh,” was arrested on January 24, 2026; 5 days of silence have passed since his detention.

Mostafa Kamarkhani, one of the detainees from “Ilam,” has been detained for more than three weeks and remains in a state of silence; he has also suffered an eye injury.
