Mahabad; Detention and Lack of Information on the Fate of Hossein and Sina Nikseresht, Father and Son

January 18, 2026; Yesterday, two Kurdish citizens from Mahabad named “Hossein Nikseresht” and “Sina Nikseresht,” who are father and son, were arbitrarily detained by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

According to an informed source to “Kurdpa,” on Saturday, January 17, 2026, “Hossein Nikseresht” and “Sina Nikseresht” from the village of “Tarshakan,” a suburb of Mahabad, were detained by security forces of the Intelligence Department without the presentation of a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location; and still, no information is available regarding their fate and place of detention.

Until the publication of this news, there is no information regarding the reasons for the detention of these two citizens, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard.
