Kerend/Dalahu; 5 Days of Detention and Lack of Information on the Fate of a Yarsani Kurdish Family: Farshad and Ghazal Shafiei and Elham Mehrabi

January 13, 2026; Five days after the arbitrary detention of a Yarsani Kurdish family in Kerend Dalahu named “Seyed Farshad Shafiei,” 45 years old and the father of the family, “Seyedeh Ghazal Shafiei,” 23 years old and the daughter of the family, and “Elham Mehrabi,” the mother of the family, no information is available regarding their fate or place of detention.

According to an informed source to Kurdpa; on the early morning of Friday, January 9, 2026, at three AM, three members of a Yarsani Kurdish family in the city of “Kerend,” a suburb of Dalahu County, were detained by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and through a raid on their home; no information is available regarding their fate or place of custody.

These family members were detained following their participation in peaceful popular protests in Kerend Dalahu.

It should be noted that Seyedeh Ghazal Shafiei, born on January 18, 2003, is a Tanbur musician and instructor.
