Kermanshah; Detention of 13 More Citizens in Sonqor + 25 Individuals Detained So Far

January 7, 2026; In the continuation of the wave of arbitrary detentions of Kurdish citizens in Kermanshah Province, aimed at imposing an atmosphere of repression and security over society following the 2026 popular protests; at least 13 more Kurdish citizens in Sonqor County, a suburb of Kermanshah Province, have been detained arbitrarily and violently.

According to news received and confirmed by Kurdpa, between January 5 and January 6, 2026, at least 13 more Kurdish citizens of Sonqor County, Kermanshah, were detained following the protests in this city on January 5, 2026. Five of them were women, including “Asal Sogvand,” who was detained by repressive forces and transferred to an unknown location after being wounded by pellet gun fire.

Most of these individuals were detained without the presentation of a judicial warrant and in a violent manner. As of the publication of this report, there is no information regarding the status or place of custody for many of them.

The names of the detainees are as follows:

January 5, 2026: “Reza Moradi,” “Mehdi Bagheri,” “Mostafa Golzar,” “Mohsen Kamyab,” “Mohammad Seifouri,” “Ebrahim Pishvaei,” “Morteza Sarhadi,” “Amir Mazhari,” “Ahad Seifouri,” “Arman Masoudi,” and “Setareh Fareghi.”

January 6, 2026: “Fariborz Abbasi,” “Yazdan Falehgari.”

According to statistics recorded and verified by Kurdpa, from January 5, 2026, to January 6, 2026, at least 25 Kurdish citizens have been detained in Sonqor, a suburb of Kermanshah.
