Piranshahr – Mohammad Mohammadi Transferred to Naqadeh Prison to Serve Prison Sentence

On Sunday, May 4, 2025, Mohammad Mohammadi (also known as Sheikhali), a resident of Shinabad in Piranshahr, was arrested to begin serving his prison sentence and transferred to Naqadeh Prison.

According to an informed source, this Kurdish citizen had previously been sentenced by the Piranshahr Revolutionary Court to two years of discretionary imprisonment on charges of “collaborating with one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government.” This verdict was upheld in full by the Court of Appeals.

On Tuesday, February 20, 2023, Mr. Mohammadi was temporarily released from Naqadeh Prison after posting bail of 2 billion tomans, pending the completion of legal proceedings.

During his detention, this Kurdish citizen was denied access to legal counsel and visits from family members.

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, Mohammad Mohammadi (Sheikhali) was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and taken to a security detention facility in Urmia for interrogation. After two months of interrogation, he was transferred to Naqadeh Prison.
