Cries for Justice: Hamid Hosseinnezhad’s Mother Pleads Outside Urmia Revolutionary Court

On Saturday, April 19, 2025, the family of Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou, a Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death, gathered for over two hours outside the Urmia Revolutionary Court. Despite repeated appeals, government security forces prevented the family from entering the building and denied them access to the presiding judge.
That same day, however, the family was briefly able to meet with the Urmia Prosecutor. According to family members, the Prosecutor stated that the case was “under review”, but no official statement or written decision was provided to them.
Uncertainty Continues: No News Since Transfer to Intelligence Custody:
Since the evening of April 16, 2025, Hamid has been in unknown custody after being transferred by Intelligence agents. As of now, there is no information about his location or condition. According to informed sources, security agencies are attempting to coerce a new confession, possibly to align with the official narrative and undermine the family’s claims of innocence.
Broadcast of Forced Confession by IRGC-Affiliated Media:
At 1:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), aired a 5-minute video featuring coerced confessions by Hamid Hosseinnezhad. The footage was filmed in two different settings, with noticeable inconsistencies in his appearance, and claimed to reenact his alleged role in an armed border clash in Chaldoran.
Daughter Speaks Out: “That Video Is a Forced Confession”:
In response, Ronahi Hosseinnezhad, Hamid’s daughter, posted a video declaring:
“My father was in solitary confinement and tortured for an entire year. He was forced to confess under pressure.
They have no real evidence. They tried to silence us, but now I won’t stay quiet.”
She emphasized that security forces had threatened the family into silence, but with her father's life at imminent risk, they are now speaking out to let the public hear his side of the story.
A Mother's Cry at the Gates of Injustice:
The video released by Kurdish media shows Hamid’s mother pleading outside the closed doors of the Urmia Revolutionary Court—a scene symbolic of a family’s desperate search for justice, met with official silence and indifference.
Neither the judiciary nor security agencies have issued any formal response, and Hamid’s life remains in immediate danger.
