Since February 26, 2024, the 21-month prison sentence of Mahvash Tavasoli, one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, has been enforced under electronic restraint in the vicinity of Piranshahr County.
According to a copy of the judicial correspondence related to the verdict of Mahvash Tavasoli, which was obtained by Kurdpa, the first branch of the criminal execution of judgments of the public and revolutionary court of Piranshahr county announced to the Urmia prison that it would enforce the most severe 21-month prison sentence of Ms. Tavasoli under electronic restraint in the vicinity of Piranshahr.
On August 27, 2023, the Revolutionary Court of Piranshahr sentenced Mahvash Tavasoli to 21 months in prison for the charges of assembly and collusion against national security, membership in Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government to 20 months in prison, and propaganda against the system to 4 months in prison.
In this regard, her husband, Jotyar Ashrafzadeh, was sentenced to 3 years in prison on the same charges.
On October 20, 2022, Jotyar Ashrafzadeh and Mahvash Tavasoli were arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant for participating in the protests of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi and were released on bail after completing the interrogation stages.
