Qezelhesar prison; transfer of Farhad Salimi, a Kurdish political prisoner while on hunger strike to solitary confinement and serious risk of execution
On January 19, 2024, Mamoosta Farhad Salimi, a Kurdish political prisoner imprisoned in Qezelhesar prison in Karaj, who has been on hunger strike for three weeks, was transferred to solitary confinement and there is a serious risk of execution.
On December 31, 2023, Anwar Khezri, Kamran Sheikheh, Khosrow Basharat, and Mamoosta Farhad Salimi, four political prisoners sentenced to death, went on a wet hunger strike following the transfer of Davoud Abdollahi to solitary confinement for execution and the serious risk of their execution.
On January 1, 2024, the death sentence of Davoud Abdollahi, a political prisoner, was executed in Qezelhesar prison in Karaj after a week of being transferred to solitary confinement. Also, the death sentences of Qasem Absteh and Ayoub Karimi, other Kurdish political prisoners, were executed on November 5 and November 29, 2023 in Qezelhesar prison.
After the execution of Qasem Absteh and Ayoub Karimi, the security agencies told the families of other prisoners to be silent until they at least received the bodies of the executed.
The case of these prisoners is very vague and full of legal flaws and an unfair trial process. So far, no lawyer has seen their case and the prisoners themselves have repeatedly emphasized that their sentences were the result of forced confessions under torture and months of detention and interrogation in solitary confinement.
