Transfer of Osman Esmaeili, a labor activist, to Evin Prison
On January 1, the second branch of the Criminal Enforcement Court of Saqqez informed the family of Osman Esmaeili, a labor activist, that he had been transferred to Evin Prison in Tehran.
According to an informed source, on Monday, December 24, this labor activist was transferred to a hospital outside the prison due to an "inguinal hernia" and the forensic medicine in Saqqez confirmed that he should undergo surgery as soon as possible. After a follow-up by the family of Esmaeili and securing a one billion rial bail, the judicial authorities of Saqqez stated that the administrative work related to it would take until January 1, and then he would be sent on medical leave.
The informed source added: On Monday morning, the family of this labor activist went to the central prison of Saqqez to welcome him, but after about two hours of waiting, the prison officials informed them that it had been more than two hours since we released Osman Esmaeili. The attendees were shocked and after protesting the situation; They met with his case judge in the second branch of the Criminal Enforcement Court of Saqqez.
The informed source said: The case judge informed the family of this labor activist that to better address Mr. Esmaeili's illness, we decided to transfer him to Evin Prison in Tehran.
On November 12, Osman Esmaeili was arrested and taken to prison after appearing in the second branch of the General and Revolutionary Court of Saqqez for the execution of his prison sentence.
This labor activist received a notice for the execution of his prison sentence after his prison sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, October 29.
On August 28, Osman Esmaeili, along with his appointed lawyer Farzad Nasrollahi, objected to the verdict of the first instance court and sent a petition to the Supreme Court.
This labor activist was sentenced by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez to 31 months and 15 days in prison for "membership in the Komala organization of the Kurdistan Communist Party of Iran" and to seven months and 15 days in prison for "propaganda against the regime by participating in the funeral of Jina Amini".
On June 18, the trial of Osman Esmaeili's charges was held under the chairmanship of Judge "Javad Mostafaei", the head of the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez, and "Keyvan Javani", the adviser of the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez.
On April 17, Osman Esmaeili was released from Saqqez prison temporarily until the end of the trial by depositing a one billion rial bail.
On March 15, 2022, this labor activist was transferred from the detention center of the Sanandaj Intelligence Department to Saqqez Prison.
On Wednesday, February 8, 2022, Mr. Esmaeili was arrested without presenting a judicial order in Shahada Street, Saqqez, by security forces and transferred to the detention center of the Saqqez Intelligence Department after a week.
