Vafa Rasouli Azar was transferred to Naghdeh prison for execution of imprisonment sentence

On January 2, Vafa (Abdollah) Rasouli Azar, 22, son of Hossein, a protester from Piranshahr, was transferred to Naghdeh prison for execution of imprisonment sentence.

In May 2023, this protester was sentenced by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court Two of Piranshahr, presided over by Judge "Reza Ghorbani Saatloo", to eleven months and sixteen days of imprisonment for the charge of "deliberate arson of the banner of the Intelligence Office", seven months and sixteen days of imprisonment for the charge of "rebellion against government agents" and seven months and sixteen days of imprisonment and 40 lashes of imprisonment except for the head, face and genitals for the charge of "participation in disturbing public order and security".

Vafa Rasouli Azar, a native of Piranshahr, was arrested by security forces on the morning January 18, 2023 and transferred to one of the security detention centers in Urmia for interrogation.

This young Kurd was transferred to Naghdeh prison after two months of completing the interrogation stages and was temporarily released on bail on April 28, 2023.
