Urmia; Mansour Salamat died within 9 hours as a result of pressure and torture by security forces in the "Noh Pelle" detention center
On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, Mansour Salamat, a detained citizen from the village of "Pasan" in the Targur region of Urmia, lost his life as a result of severe pressure and torture by security forces in the "Noh Pelle" detention center in Urmia after 9 hours of detention and interrogation.
According to an informed source to Kurdpa; Mr. Salamat was arrested by security forces at 10 am on charges of "holding a hunting weapon" and transferred to the security detention center "Nine Steps", but after 9 hours, security forces announced his death to his family by phone.
Security forces told the family that he had a "stroke" due to "fear and mental pressure" in detention and lost his life; but according to an informed source to Kurdpa, Salamat's family said "their son was healthy and killed under torture". On the other hand, the pressures on Sal,amat's family to remain silent about their son's death have increased sharply.
The body of Mansour Salamat was quickly delivered to his family after being transferred to the forensic medicine of Urmia to be buried as soon as possible.
On Thursday, December 28, 2023, the body of Mansour Salamat was buried in his birthplace, the village of "Pasan".
The security and secret detention center "Doghuz Tappe" which is known as "Noh Pelle" (Nine steps) is one of the most terrifying secret detention centers of the Islamic Republic located in Urmia. According to some witnesses, because this detention center has 9 steps underground, it is known by this name, but Kurdpa cannot confirm the validity of this claim.
Informed sources of Kurdpa say; that due to the severity of torture and various types of violence narrated in this detention center by people who were imprisoned there, a widespread terror of this detention center has been created among the people.
