The death of a Kurdish citizen in a security detention center in Urmia
On December 27, a Kurdish citizen named "Mansour Salamat" son of a convict from the village of "Pasan" in the Targur region of Urmia died a few hours after being arrested in a security detention center in this city.
According to an informed source, security forces arrested this citizen on December 27, on charges of "keeping hunting weapons" and transferred him to the security detention center "Nine Steps".
The informed source added: Mr. Salamat died as a result of pressure and torture by security forces in the detention center and on Wednesday night December 26, security forces announced the death of this citizen by phone to his family.
The informed source stated that security forces claimed that Mansour Salamat had a stroke and died due to fear and psychological pressure in detention.
The body of this Kurdish citizen was delivered to his family after being transferred to the forensic medicine of Urmia and was buried in his birthplace on December 27.
