Security forces under the guise of water department employees searched the house and took a pledge from his family to arrest Houshiar Shabani
Following the summons of Houshiar Shabani, a former political prisoner and civil activist, to the public and revolutionary prosecutor's office of Baneh and several attacks by security forces on his family's home in September 2023 to arrest him, this time security forces under the guise of water department employees raid and search his family's home to arrest this civil activist.
According to an informed source to Kurdpa; on December 14, 2023, 9 security forces under the guise of water department employees raided his family's home to arrest Houshiar Shabani and searched the house. They also took a compulsory pledge from the family, demanding that they hand over their son to the Baneh intelligence department.
After the security forces of Baneh failed to arrest him on September 4, 2023 despite the raid on Houshiar Shabani's house; they filed a case against him and summoned, him to the first branch of the public and revolutionary prosecutor's office of Baneh on charges of "propaganda against the system" in late November 2023.
Mr. Shabani was sentenced to one year of correctional imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez, located in Baneh, headed by Judge "Akbar Mirzai" on charges of "propaganda against the system" in February 2022 and was acquitted of the charge of "collaboration with one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government".
The court suspended the execution of eight months of his imprisonment for five years and issued and announced a suspension order for the execution of eight months of his imprisonment in a supervisory manner, stating that Mr. Shabani is obliged to introduce himself periodically to the Baneh intelligence department during the suspension period and provide the necessary certificate to the unit executing criminal sentences at the place of execution of the verdict.
On February 7, 2022, this citizen was arrested for the execution of the prison sentence and transferred to Baneh prison.
On November 14, 2021, Houshiar Shabani was temporarily released until the end of the trial by depositing a bail.
During the detention period, this citizen was transferred to the Salah al-Din Ayoubi Hospital due to gastric bleeding in the Baneh intelligence detention center.
Security forces had put Mr. Shabani under pressure and torture for 84 days in solitary confinement in this detention center, and he had suffered from gastric bleeding twice.
This Kurdish citizen was deprived of "access to a lawyer" and "visiting his family" during the detention period.
On August 26, 2021, this citizen was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant.
Also, Houshiar Shabani was arrested, sentenced, and imprisoned in 2017, 2018, and 2019 due to his civil activities, including the campaign to support the porters and the strike of shopkeepers and merchants.
