Tehran; Foad Fathi, a labor activist, was sentenced to prison and additional punishments
On December 2, Foad (Cyrus) Fathi, a labor activist from Sanandaj and a resident of Tehran, was sentenced by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, headed by Judge "Afshari", to four years of correctional imprisonment and additional punishments.
The court accused this labor activist of "membership in Komala, the Kurdish organization of the Communist Party of Iran, action against the security of the country and propaganda against the system" and based on the issued verdict, he was sentenced to four years of correctional imprisonment, prohibition of leaving the country for two years, prohibition of membership in groups and political and social organizations for two years and non-residence in Tehran and its suburbs for two years.
On November 4, Mr. Fathi was arrested by security forces and transferred to Evin Prison and was informed of the charges by the interrogator of Branch Seven of the Evin Prosecutor's Office.
Foad Fathi is an experienced labor activist from Sanandaj.
