Marivan; Kaveh Karimian, an environmental activist, was sentenced to two years in prison

On December 9, 2023, Kaveh Karimian, an environmental activist and a member of the Green Chiya Association of Marivan, was sentenced to two years of suspended imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of this city.
The court accused this environmental activist of "propaganda against the system and cooperation with one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government".
This member of the Green Chiya Association of Marivan was temporarily released on bail until the end of the judicial proceedings on October 14, 2023.
Mr. Karimian was arrested by security forces on Sunday night, September 10, 2023, without presenting a judicial order in the village of "Nachi" in Marivan.
