Four Kurdish citizens were transferred to Oshnavieh prison to serve their sentences
On Saturday, December 30, four Kurdish citizens named "Yaqub Mahmoudi-Azar", "Yousef Rahmani", "Bahman Mahmoudi-Azar" and "Mohsen Azizi" from Ushnavieh were transferred to the prison of this city to serve their sentences.
Branch 1 of the Oshnavieh Revolutionary Court accused these four citizens of "membership and cooperation with one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government" and based on the verdict issued, Yaqub Mahmoudi-Azar was sentenced to seven years in prison, Yousef Rahmani to two years and five months in prison, Bahman Mahmoudi-Azar to seven years in prison and Mohsen Azizi to two years in prison.
According to the law of aggregation of sentences, the most severe punishment is applicable for Yaqub Mahmoudi-Azar and Bahman Mahmoudi-Azar.
On June 27, 2023, Yaqub Mahmoudi-Azar from the village of "Singan" in Oshnavieh was arrested by security forces without presenting a judicial order, and on August 18, 2023, he was temporarily released from the prison of this city by depositing bail.
Mohsen Azizi from Oshnavieh was arrested by security forces without presenting a judicial order on July 13, 2023, and on July 24, 2023, he was released from the prison of this city by depositing bail.
On June 27, 2023, Bahman Mahmoudi-Azar from Oshnavieh was arrested by security forces without presenting a judicial order, and on August 4, 2024, he was released from the prison of this city.
On July 13, 2023, Yousef Rahmani from the village of "Khorsht" in Oshnavieh was arrested by security forces without presenting a judicial order and was transferred to one of the security detention centers in Urmia for interrogation. He was released from Oshnavieh prison on August 17, 2023, by depositing bail.
