Piranshahr; Mohammad Sohrabi, one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, was sentenced to 16 months in prison and one year of exile

Mohammad Sohrabi, a citizen of Piranshahr and one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, was sentenced by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad to 16 months of correctional imprisonment and one year of exile to Zanjan province.

According to a source informed to Kurdpa, the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad, headed by Judge "Dosti", accused Mr. Sohrabi of "membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government".

The trial session for the charges against this Kurdish citizen was held on October 17, 2023, at the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad and this verdict was notified to him on October 29, 2023.

Also, this detained citizen was sentenced by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court Two of Piranshahr on charges of "disrupting public order and security" to three months of correctional imprisonment and 10 lashes in May 2023, which the court had converted this verdict to a payment of two million and five hundred thousand tomans in cash by referring to the law on reducing correctional punishments.

Mohammad Sohrabi was arrested by security forces during the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi on November 12, 2022, and after two months of temporary detention, he was released from Naghdeh prison on January 11, 2023, by depositing bail.
