Saqqez: Abdullah Hamzeh Sentenced to One Year of Correctional Imprisonment with Credit for Previous Detention Days
A Kurdish citizen named "Abdullah Hamzeh," 48 years old, son of Mohammad Karim from Saqqez, has been sentenced to one year of correctional imprisonment by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of this city, presided over by Judge "Masoud Hajizadeh," with credit for the days of his previous detention.
The trial for the charges against this citizen was held on September 26th in the first branch of the Revolutionary Court in Saqqez. The court sentenced him to one year of correctional imprisonment with credit for the days of his previous detention on the charge of "membership in one of the opposition Kurdish parties to the Iranian government and communicating with it since June 2022."
The verdict against Mr. Hamzeh was issued in person, and within twenty days from the date of notification, it is subject to appeal in the appellate court.
Abdullah Hamzeh was detained in June without any judicial order by security forces. He was transferred to the Intelligence Office detention center in Sanandaj for interrogation.
After completing the interrogation process, this citizen was transferred to Saqqez Prison and was subsequently temporarily released upon posting bail.
