Kurdpa publishes images of Saman Yasin (Sayidi), a rap singer from Kermanshah and one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, while he was detained in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.
This Kurdish political prisoner was transferred to Ward 8 of Evin Prison in Tehran along with 8 other political prisoners named Saeed Masouri, Afshin Baymani, Motalleb Ahmadian, Hamzeh Savari, Loqman Aminpour, Mohammad Shafiei, Hossein Ghachlu, and Masoud Kazemi-Nejad from Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj on August 1, 2023.
This singer along with 12 other political prisoners named Saeed Masouri, Loghman Aminpour, Jafar Ebrahimi, Afshin Baymani, Sepehr Imam Jomeh, Mohammad Shafi'i, Masoud Reza Ebrahimi Nejad, Hamza Savari, Kamyar Fakour, Ahmadreza Ha'iri, Reza Salmanzadeh and Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb were suddenly and without prior notice transferred from Evin Prison to Qazalhasar Karaj Prison on the 3rd of September 2023.
These 13 prisoners then went on a hunger strike in protest of their transfer to Qazalhasar Karaj Prison and the harsh conditions of detention in the cell.
In an audio message from prison that was recorded before his transfer to Evin Prison, Saman Yasin referred to the torture of the detention period from fake execution to nasal cavity rupture due to torture by security interrogators and pressure for forced confessions.
The meeting of Saman's charges has been postponed twice after the violation of the verdict in the Supreme Court of the country.
After the violation of Saman Yasin's death sentence in the Supreme Court, this singer was charged with "gathering and conspiring to commit a crime against national security" and "carrying a weapon to disrupt public order and security".
Saman was previously accused of "fighting against God" and then acquitted of this charge.
Saman Yasin went on a hunger strike on February 17, 2023, in protest of his uncertainty in Evin Prison and ended his strike after a week with the insistence of his family and colleagues.
This Kurdish singer was transferred from Rajai Shahr Prison to Ward 209 of Evin Prison for further interrogation on February 28, 2023, and after a month of detention in Ward 209 of Evin Prison, he was returned to Rajai Shahr Prison on March 8, 2023. In early January, his appeal was accepted by the Supreme Court due to inadequate investigations, and his death sentence was overturned.
On Tuesday, December 21, 2022, Saman Yasin committed suicide by taking pills due to harsh conditions in Ward 31 of Andarzgah 10 in Rajai Shahr Prison.
Saman was transferred from Evin Prison to Rajai Shahr Prison by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court headed by Judge "Salavati" on charges of "fighting against God" and sentenced to death on December 1, 2022.
The hearing of this 27-year-old singer was held on November 7, 2022, at the Tehran General and Revolutionary Court headed by Judge "Salavati" along with eight other detainees named Mohammad Qabadlou, Mohsen Rezazadeh Gharaghlou, Saeed Shirazi, Mohammad Borougni, Abolfazl Mahri, Hossein Hajilou, Manouchehr Mohammadi Navaz and Soheil Khoshdel.
Saman Yasin was accused in this court of "fighting against God by pulling a belt buckle and firing three bullets" and "gathering and conspiring to commit a crime against national security". This is while according to a video released from his court appearance, he admitted that he only had an air gun. Even Judge Salavati accused him of having 11 criminal records which he denied.
Saman Yasin was arrested on October 2nd, 2022 in connection with protests in Tehran.
