Sanandaj; Hemn Khsstan, one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, is facing a new case while being sentenced to 74 months in prison.
Hemn Khastan, one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, was sentenced by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj to a total of 74 months and 3 days in prison. He is also facing a new case in Branch 2 of the Sanandaj Court's Prosecutor's Office at the request of the Ministry of Intelligence on charges of "membership in Kurdish parties".
According to a source, Hemn Khastan, a 29-year-old young man from Sanandaj, was sentenced by Judge "Saedi" of Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj on charges of acting against national security to 3 years and 6 months and one day in prison, on charges of insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic to 15 months and one day in prison and on charges of forming a group and party to 17 months and one day in prison during two short court sessions in May 2023.
This verdict was verbally communicated to his lawyer one week after the second session of Hemn's trial on May 21, 2023.
While Hemn's case is referred to the Court of Appeal by his lawyer, a new case has been filed against him by the Ministry of Intelligence on charges of "membership in Kurdish parties" in Branch 2 of the Sanandaj Court's Prosecutor's Office.
At the same time, the Ministry of Intelligence threatens him repeatedly by phone to surrender himself to this security agency or he will be arrested violently.
Hemn Khastan, a 29-year-old protester from Sanandaj, was arrested violently by security forces on September 30, 2022. He was subjected to physical and psychological torture for forced confessions during his 25-day detention in one of the security detention centers in Sanandaj.
Hemn was released temporarily from prison on October 26, 2022, with a bail of 500 million Tomans.
Following threats and pressure from security agencies to arrest and reopen a new case against Mr. Khastan, he was forced to leave the country.
Hemn Khastan, son of Mohammad and Saeedeh, was born on April 21st, 1994 in Sanandaj.
