The transfer of Ashkan Fahim, a Kurdish literary activist, to Urmia Prison

On October 18, 2023, Ashkan Fahim, a literary and cultural activist from Mahabad, was transferred from one of the security detention centers in Urmia to the prison of this city.

According to a source, this detained activist has been deprived of access to a lawyer and meeting with his family so far.

Reza Andisheh, a civil activist, and Ashkan Fahim, a literary and cultural activist, were arrested at 4 a.m. on September 15, 2023, by more than 60 armed forces of the IRGC's intelligence organization raiding Ashkan Fahim's home. The IRGC forces surrounded the alley where Ashkan lived broke the doors and windows of the house and arrested these two young men by resorting to severe violence and beating them with gun barrels while they were injured and bleeding.

The beating of the IRGC forces was so severe that Ashkan Fahim was transferred to one of the IRGC's security detention centers in Urmia by a blanket.

Ashkan has a history of heart disease and is still struggling with it, his family is very worried about his health.

Reza Andisheh, a civil activist, was transferred to Mahabad Prison on October 16, 2023, after a month of violent arrest.

So far, no accurate information has been obtained about the reason for the arrest and the charges against these two Kurdish activists from Mahabad.
