Reza Rasaei, a Kurdish Yarsan citizen and one of the protesters arrested on charges of "direct involvement in murder" of a security official, was sentenced to death

Reza (Gholamreza) Rasaei, 34 years old, a Kurdish Yarsan citizen from Sahneh City of Kermanshah province, was arrested during the commemoration ceremony of the 21st anniversary of Seyyed Khalil Alinejad, one of the Kurdish Yarsan leaders, and in connection with the protests of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi following the state killing of Jina-Mahsa Amini, was sentenced to death, payment of blood money, one year of imprisonment and 74 lashes.

According to information received by Kurdpa; this arrested protester was sentenced by Branch 2 of the Criminal Court of Kermanshah to charges of "direct involvement in intentional murder" of Nader Birami, head of the Intelligence Organization of the Revolutionary Guards Corps of Sahneh City, "direct involvement in causing intentional non-fatal injuries not leading to death", "demonstration and show of force with a knife" and "disruption of public order by creating noise and controversy" to execution (retribution), payment of blood money, one year of imprisonment and 74 lashes.

Reza Rasaei has been judged three times by Branch 2 of the Criminal Court of Kermanshah in recent months. His last court session was on September 21, 2023, and his death sentence was issued in writing to his lawyers on October 7, 2023.

Reza Rasaei rejected all the charges brought against him during the court sessions and repeatedly stated that he was forced to make confessions against himself in the detention center of the Intelligence Department of Sahneh due to "torture and threat of rape".

Reza Rasaei was arrested by agents of the Intelligence Department in Shahriar, Tehran province on November 24, 2022, and transferred to Sahneh City. He had been tortured severely for a week in the detention center of the Intelligence Department of Sahneh to accept the charge of "participation in murder" of Nader Birami.

He was transferred to Diesel Abad prison in Kermanshah after the end of the interrogation period and again after a few weeks, he was transferred to the detention center of the Intelligence Department of this city for 21 days along with several other people arrested during the anniversary ceremony of Seyyed Khalil Alinejad.

The Consultative Assembly of Yarsan Civil Activists reported in this regard; "In this violence, dozens were arrested and several others were killed and injured, including the head of the Intelligence Department of the Revolutionary Guards Corps of Sahneh City."

According to a source informed by Kurdpa, several people have been introduced to this charge so far, but unfortunately, Reza Rasaei was sentenced to death. Seyyed Masoum Rezavi and another person named Bigi were also involved in this case, Rezavi was acquitted and there is no information about Bigi's fate. On the other hand, Reza Rasaei's family is under severe pressure and threat from security agencies and has been forced to remain silent about their son's situation.
