Ehsan Mohammadi, a 16-year-old child, accused of "enmity against God" is in Urmia Prison with the aspiration to "engage in martial arts activities and join the national team"

Ehsan Mohammadi, a 16-year-old child from Sanandaj, who has been detained for more than 10 months and is one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, is facing charges of "enmity against God" while holding the aspiration to "engage in martial arts activities and join the national team."

According to an informed source, this 16-year-old student has spent over 10 months in detention, deprived of education, and had the aspiration to "engage in martial arts activities and join the national team."

On the 8th of June 2023, this 16-year-old political prisoner was accused by branch 3 of the revolutionary court in Urmia of disrupting public order and tranquility through participation in protests, arson, and destruction of public property, charged with "enmity against God," and due to being under 18, his case was referred to the juvenile criminal court.

On the 25th of August 2023, Erik Marquardt, a member of the European Parliament, took on the political sponsorship of Ehsan Mohammadi. Mr. Marquardt wrote on his Instagram page, "I have taken on Ehsan's sponsorship. He is 16 years old and faced the possibility of being sentenced to death on charges of 'enmity against God.' In the past, individuals under the legal age have been sentenced to death and executed multiple times in Iran."

Ehsan Mohammadi was summoned and arrested by the Intelligence Department of Sanandaj on the 13th of October 2022. After a period of interrogation, he was transferred to Urmia and subjected to torture during interrogation.

Since his detention, he has been imprisoned in the Urmia Correctional and Rehabilitation Center without temporary release.
