Seywan Ebrahimi, a member of the "Nojin" Society, has been sentenced to imprisonment, exile, and 40 lashes
Seywan Ebrahimi, a Kurdish language instructor and a member of the board of directors of the cultural-social association "Nojin," has been sentenced to one year of disciplinary imprisonment, exile to Dieselabad Prison in Kermanshah, and 40 lashes by branch 106 of the criminal court in Sanandaj.
Mr. Ebrahimi was accused of "disturbing public order," and a hearing on his charges was held on the 17th of August in branch 106 of the criminal court in Sanandaj.
This sentence was communicated to this Kurdish language instructor on Tuesday, August 22nd.
Additionally, another case accusing him of "propaganda against the regime" is open in branch 1 of the revolutionary court in Sanandaj. A court session for this member of the "Nojin" Society is scheduled for the August 28th.
On Monday, 13th of February 2023, Seywan Ebrahimi was temporarily released from detention with a bail deposit until the end of the trial proceedings.
During his detention, this Kurdish language instructor was deprived of access to legal representation and meetings with his family.
On Wednesday, 18th of January 2023, Mr. Ebrahimi was arrested without a judicial order by security forces.
On Tuesday, 3rd of January 2023, Seywan Ebrahimi was also detained by security forces while following up on his wife, Zahra Mohammadi's case, in the revolutionary court in Sanandaj. He was released on Friday, 5th of January 2023, with a bail deposit.
