Urmia Prison: The prosecutor's office and the intelligence agency in Piranshahr prevented granting furlough to a Kurdish political prisoner
A Kurdish Political Prisoner Named "Loqman Ghaderi" from Pasveh, a resident of Piranshahr, who is held in Urmia Prison, has been deprived of his right to furlough due to the opposition of the prosecutor's office and the intelligence agency in Piranshahr.
According to an informed source reported to Kurdpa, the prosecutor's office and the intelligence agency in Piranshahr have conditioned granting facilities and furlough to this political prisoner on his cooperation with security institutions.
In a letter obtained by Kurdpa, this political prisoner asks human rights organizations to follow up on the situation of prisoners to hold security and judicial authorities accountable.
This political prisoner was sentenced to two years, seven months, and sixteen days of imprisonment by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court of Piranshahr on charges of "membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties in the Iranian government." The sentence was communicated to him on Saturday, August 28, 2022, in Urmia Central Prison.
This citizen was transferred to Urmia Central Prison in June 2022 after completing the interrogation period in one of the security detention centers in Urmia.
During the detention period, this Kurdish citizen was denied access to a lawyer and meeting with his deprived family.
On Thursday, October 21, 2021, security forces arrested Loqman Ghaderi on the Piranshahr-Pasveh road without a judicial warrant.
