New details of the government's assassination of Mousa Esmaeili have emerged, revealing that he was killed one day after being arrested and as a result of 'multiple brain injuries and internal bleeding' under torture

Based on new details obtained from the burial permit of the Kurdish political prisoner, Mousa Esmaeili, it has been revealed that he was killed as a result of "multiple brain injuries and internal bleeding," "severe brain and abdominal internal organ damage," and "multiple high-velocity projectile impacts" just one day after his arrest by the Intelligence forces in Urmia.

According to an informed source cited by Kurdpa, while on Saturday, July 8th, the Intelligence forces in Urmia had summoned Mousa Esmaeili's father, they informed him that "his son had lost his life under torture." The details on Mousa Esmaeili's burial permit indicate that he lost his life on May 8, 2023, due to "multiple brain injuries and internal bleeding," "severe brain and abdominal internal organ damage," and "multiple high-velocity projectile impacts," just one day after his arrest.

The same informed source reported to Kurdpa that the government's assassination of Mousa Esmaeili took place on May 8, 2023, and in the section labeled "Issuer's Details of the Burial Permit," it is registered with the medical seal and signature of a doctor named "Dr. Peyman Hasanpour" with medical license number "86530," stating that "there are no obstacles to bury the deceased." However, until now, Mr. Esmaeili's body has not been handed over to his family. Considering that the Intelligence forces in Urmia had previously stated to Mousa Esmaeili's father on May 8, 2023, that "there will be no funeral," Kurdpa believes it is highly likely that this Kurdish political prisoner was buried by security forces in an undisclosed location after the issuance of the burial permit on July 9, 2023.

Kurdpa's investigations regarding the details of Mousa Esmaeili's burial permit indicate that the issuance of the burial permit for this Kurdish political prisoner was not done by an official medical document but rather by a document issued by a medical practitioner in Piranshahr named "Dr. Peyman Hasanpour," who is known and recognized as "a government official and a collaborator with security agencies" in Piranshahr.

On the evening of Sunday, May 8, 2023, Mousa Esmaeili is arrested by the Intelligence forces in Urmia on charges of "membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government" on the Pasouh-Mahabad road. Kurdpa's investigations and discussions with informed sources suggest that it is highly likely that, due to the mention of "multiple high-velocity projectile impacts" in the burial permit, this political prisoner was shot at by the security forces during the arrest. However, other titles such as "multiple injuries and severe brain damage" as the cause of death indicate that Mr. Esmaeili, after being wounded and without receiving medical attention, became a target of torture by the Urmia Intelligence forces and, most likely, was killed in one of the security detention centers in Piranshahr, as his burial permit was issued in that city.

Mizan, the official news agency of the judiciary, had previously published a news report on July 11, 2023, denying the government's assassination of Mousa Esmaeili under torture in Urmia prison, stating that he was killed on May 12, 2023, during a clash with "security agents." However, according to the details on the burial permit issued with the logo of the judiciary, the date of death is recorded as May 8th.

Furthermore, the entity responsible for summoning and informing Mousa Esmaeili's father about his murder was the Intelligence forces in Urmia. This indicates that this entity was responsible for Mr. Esmaeili's arrest. It is one of the security forces in Iran that carries out arbitrary arrests of political prisoners. On the other hand, every year in Iranian Kurdistan, dozens of porters (Kolbars) and civilians are targeted and shot by military forces on the borders and transportation routes. However, their deaths are not publicly announced by the security forces, and their killings remain concealed for months, and their bodies are not subjected to forced disappearance by these forces.

According to reports received by Kurdpa, the family of Mr. Esmaeili is still under pressure from the security forces to remain silent about the murder of their son. Previously, the security forces of the Intelligence agency in Urmia had informed this family that they were not allowed to hold a funeral ceremony in the mosque.

Mousa Esmaeili, the son of Mohammad Amin, was born on December 7, 1991, married, and had two sons, aged 6 years and 4 months. He was a resident of Psveh village, affiliated with Piranshahr.
