Peyman Galvani is another victim of the state-sponsored killings by the Islamic Republic. On the morning of Sunday, July 9th, after being hospitalized in Khomeini Hospital in Urmia and due to the severity of injuries inflicted during torture at the Intelligence Detention Center, he lost his life.

According to an informed source, as reported by Kurdpa, Peyman Galvani had been hospitalized in Khomeini Hospital in Urmia for the past two days, and the security institutions contacted his family to inform them that he was hospitalized. His family managed to meet him for less than 20 minutes last night under intense pressure and secrecy.

The informed source provided details about Peyman Galvani's condition in the hospital. His hands and feet were tied to the bed with handcuffs and leg cuffs. His entire body showed signs of "wounds and bruising," and he was tortured to such an extent that he continuously shook and convulsed on the bed.

At the time of this report, Peyman Galvani's body is in the Urmia morgue awaiting the completion of the autopsy, and the Urmia prosecutor has declared his death as suspicious.

After Peyman Galvani's death, the security institutions also put pressure on his family to declare the cause of death as "falling from a height." The informed source from Kurdpa states that this claim by the security institutions is completely false, and his family is awaiting a medical-legal response and autopsy. They have also stated that their son was completely healthy and had no underlying medical conditions.

Peyman Galvani was arrested on June 25, 2023 when security forces raided his home without a judicial warrant or any explanation. He was transferred to the Urmia Intelligence Detention Center. During this time, he was deprived of the right to make any contact, meet his family, or have access to a lawyer.

Mr. Galvani joined one of the Kurdish opposition parties in Iran three years ago but returned to Iran after three months with a safe-conduct pass. According to the informed source from Kurdpa, this could be the only reason for the security institutions' arrest of Mr. Galvani.

Peyman Galvani, 24 years old, was from Mahabad and had a self-employed occupation.

He got married seven months ago. During a brief meeting with his family in the hospital, he told his wife over the phone, "Don't worry, I'll be back."
