Bokan; a Kurdish citizen sentenced to prison

Masoud Darsanj, a citizen of Bokan, was sentenced to 33 months in prison by Branch 101 of the Criminal Court of the city. The court accused him of "membership in one of the opposition Kurdish parties to the Iranian government, participation in protests, sending videos and news to anti-government media, writing slogans and distributing statements."

The sentence was officially notified to Mr. Darsanj in early April. 

On Sunday, January 15th, 2023, Masoud Darsanj was arrested without a judicial warrant by security forces and transferred to one of the Urmia detention centers for interrogation.

After completing the interrogation process and one month of temporary detention, this Kurdish citizen was released on bail of 350 million tomans.
