Appeal court; The conviction of Kamal Abdullahzadeh was confirmed again
The sentence of five years and eight months of imprisonment of Kamal Abdullahzadeh, a Kurdish soldier from Saqqez, was confirmed in the appeals court.
The hearing of this citizen's appeal court was held on January 31st and his appeal request was rejected by the court.
Mr. Abdullahzadeh was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison by the 26th branch of Tehran Revolutionary Court headed by judge "Iman Afshari" on charges of "gathering and colluding against the security of the country" and "propaganda against the regime".
This Kurdish soldier was arrested by the security forces in Tehran's 135 Azadi police station on September 28th after announcing that "I am with the people and I will not shoot at anyone."
After being interrogated and held in solitary confinement for forty days, he was transferred to Greater Tehran Prison and was released from prison on December 17th after posting bail.
During his detention, this soldier was denied access to any lawyer and family visits.
