Mullah shrif Mahmoodpour was arrested after reading the statement of the clerics of Piranshahr in support of the protests

On the evening of Monday, January 23rd , Mullah Sharif Mahmoodpour, the imam of Rasulullah Mosque in Piranshahr, was arrested by the security forces and taken to an unknown place.

 After reading the statement of the scholars and clerics of Piranshahr and its suburbs regarding the recent executions, arbitrary arrests, torture of prisoners and the issuance of criminal sentences, this Kurdish cleric was arrested by the security forces without any judicial warrant and he was insulted by these forces. 

 On Monday, January 23rd, the scholars and clerics of Piranshahr and its suburbs published a statement calling the protesters "warlike" and "baghi" and called on the Shia authorities to break their silence regarding the country's critical situation.

 Scholars and clerics of Piranshahr and its suburbs also demanded the release of all the detainees and an apology to them and their families and compensation for the damages caused to them.
