The head of Azad University in Saqqez was dismissed from his position

Kurdpa agency: In Sanandaj the provisional authority unprecedentedly dismissed the head of Azad University in Saqqez.

According to Kurdpa News agency on Monday August, 22nd Dr Shahbaz Husseini the president of Azad University in Saqqez was dismissed and Dr Kaywan Shafee replaced his position.None of the local government officials did attend in the inauguration of the new president.

Local media believed that the decision of the head of Azad University in Kurdistan province upon the aforementioned dismissal is unacceptable and described it as an act of bias and prejudice.

An associate in Saqqez told Kurdpa that the reason for dismissing the head of Azad University is the involvement and persistency of Mohsen Baygleri the Member of Islamic parliament. He has allegedly been interfering the university’s executive affair.

The same associate who does not want to be identified said that, Mr. Shahbaz is a prominent cultural activist in the region. He has been the source of many developments in Saqqez.

Dr Moheseni had allegedly aware of the rumor of his dismissal. However at the beginning of thelast week a delegation of provisional Azad University visited Saqqez unprecedentedly. They also paid visit to Azad University. In a ritual ceremony the dismissal of Dr Mohseni was announced.

Dr Mohseni who had been the head of Azad University since August 2014 has been a pioneer in launching books of Kurdish author, promoting and developing Kurdish literature and culture. He holds PhD degree in Persian literature and two master degrees in Theology and Codicology.

Azad University in Saqqez officially wasopened in Sep 2000 as Sanandaj unit subsidiary. In 2006 was promoted to independent and 2015 to average unit. In this Unit more than 3000 student are enrolled in 75 associated degree, degree and master degree courses.
