January 2026 Protests; Mohammadamin Biglari and Shahin Vahedparast, two protesting political prisoners, were executed secretly

In the continuation of the new wave of executions of political prisoners by the Islamic Republic of Iran, this morning, April 5, 2026, Mohammadamin Biglari and Shahin Vahedparast, among the detainees of the January 2026 protests, were executed secretly and without prior notice to their families or lawyers.

State media, including Mizan, the official news agency of the Judiciary, published this news without mentioning the location of their execution, writing that these two protesters were executed after the processing of their case and the confirmation of the final sentence by the Supreme Court.

The case of these two protesters was processed in Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge "Abolghasem Salavati", and on February 7, 2026, the death sentence had been issued for them.

Mohammadamin Biglari and Shahin Vahedparast, along with Abolfazl Salehi Siavashani, Amirhossein Hatami, and Ali Fahim, who were sentenced to death in a joint case, were transferred to solitary confinement in Ghezel Hesar Prison in the city of Karaj on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
