Ilam; Detention of Two Individuals, Including a Teenager, in Abdanan and Darreh Shahr Mohammad-Reza Asadi and Danial Daniali

February 21, 2026; In the continuation of the wave of arbitrary and mass detentions of Kurdish citizens in Ilam Province, during the days of February 17 and 18, 2026, two other citizens, including a Kurdish teenager and a youth, were arbitrarily detained in the cities of “Abdanan” and “Darreh Shahr.” After several days, there is no information available regarding their place of detention or fate.

An informed source, while confirming these detentions, told Kurdpa: On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, “Mohammad-Reza Asadi,” a teenager from city of Darreh Shahr, and on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, “Danial Daniali,” a Kurdish youth from city of Abdanan, were detained by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location.

Until the publication of this news, these two Kurdish citizens have been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, or to have contact and meetings with their families.
